Meet the Maker
It all started with a fleece...
Well the processing part did, and that only came later.
My name is Kailey and back in 2020, I wanted to teach myself how to read patterns and knit to a certain gauge. I've been knitting for a little over 20 years, but never took to the time to learn the language of patterns. I wanted to take it more seriously and eventually make some garments.
Garments got me thinking about different types of yarn and what fibres they were made of. This opened up the idea to customize the yarn so naturally, I dove head first into spinning. It brought me into the world of wool and natural fibres. Enter raw fleeces. I started washing and trying the different ways to process, and I haven't looked back since.
My focus is on Canadian wool. The majority of each batt will be Canadian fibre with all other ingredients sourced in Canada.
I live on a homestead with other family members in Nova Scotia with my husband and our Rottweiler pup where I process and wash all the raw fleece myself in small batches (we don't want any back injuries around here, am I right?).
